Introduction to American Legal Research for Foreign Law Students
Abstract
This presentation introduces general principles of U.S. legal research to foreign law students studying at Pepperdine Law School during the 2012-13 academic year. It explains the difference between primary and secondary authority, outlines the various levels of secondary sources and what they provide, and suggests tips for creating a legal research plan.
