About Jeffrey A Franks

My career focus in academic libraries has emphasized innovative public services and public services management at three major state universities, including Michigan State University, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Akron. My broad range of experience includes service and leadership on numerous library, campus, state, and national committees, as well as a wealth of project management, services planning and development, and employee training activities. My professional interests and publications have focused on sharing the planning processes and outcomes of innovative services, as well as problem solving techniques and case studies in library management. My most recent career focus centers on best practices in the delivery of information literacy for the academic success of students in our College of Business.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has stimulated a period of rapid innovation and collaboration in the area of delivering essential services and knowledge in a remote learning environment. My colleagues and I, as well as the profession as a whole, have worked diligently to enhance existing services, develop new ones, and discover instructional techniques that best meet students needs and ensure academic success in both, the classroom and remote learning environments.
