Professor Giles was a member of the defense team in the Terry Nichols state murder
case. Immediately after graduating from law school, she was a trial attorney at the
Federal Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho. In that position, she represented
indigent persons charged with or convicted of federal crimes at trial and sentencing, on
appeal, and during federal habeas corpus proceedings. This work included briefing and
arguing before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. 

Professor Giles received her B.A. and M.L.S. from Indiana University and her J.D. from
Yale University. She teaches Legal Research and Writing.
