I have a keen interest in host-pathogen interaction involving the gastrointestinal tract. An interdisciplinary approach employing molecular biology, physiology and pharmacology fills the gap between medical practice and laboratory science. Our research focuses on endoluminal gastroenterology, Helicobacter pylori, Blastocystis hominis and Irritable bowel syndrome. Group research in Helicobacter pylori virulence marker and pathogenesis has improved understanding of H. pylori related morbidity and drug resistance in local scenario.
