A native of Mexico, Ingrid Kuri Alonso's own research interests are in the area of law and economics and regulatory law. She completed a law degree from the Universidad Cristóbal Colón and a master's degree in law from the Universidad Iberoamericana, where she taught legal history. She teaches law and economics at the Centro de Estudios Superiores del Noroeste. She has also taught at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California.
