Ian Wilson has a background in general practice with a major focus on mental health
issues in primary care. He has had a long history in medical education and for the last
seven years he has worked fulltime in medical education, first as Professor of Medical
Education while setting up the medical school at the University of Western Sydney and
more recently as Associate Dean Learning and Teaching at the University of Wollongong. 

His research interests are student selection, student edevelopment and education in rural
environments.
