About Dr Ian Teo

Dr Ian Teo has previously worked as a project coordinator, policy writer and researcher/educator within the higher education sector. In addition to publishing and presenting on issues relating to international education and student experience, his work has resulted in policy reports for the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training, and for stakeholders in within the ELICOS and foundation studies sectors. Since joining ACER at the end of 2019, he has worked on projects for the Department of Basic Education (South Africa), Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Australia), The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, and the Aga Khan Foundation (UK). The areas of work he has been involved in have included general capabilities/21st century skills, student streaming and grade repetition, teacher judgements, education in emergencies, indigenous education (early learning), and human-centred design.
