Dr. Hila J. Spear currently serves as Director of Graduate Studies in Nursing and has taught at Liberty University for the past 18 years. She has a passion for mentoring students to do their best and has been involved in nursing education for over two decades. Her primary clinical areas of practice are community and obstetric nursing. Dr. Spear has published a number of research articles related to maternity care and issues related to the promotion of breastfeeding. She has also published articles related to teen pregnancy, evidence-based practice, theory and knowledge development, and professional leadership. On a personal note, she was gloriously saved in 1972, and God has blessed her with a wonderful family. She has 4 grown children and 5 adorable grandchildren.
