Dr Hans Wohlmuth BSc(Macq) PhD(SCU) is a pharmacognosist and Senior Research Fellow
with Southern Cross Plant Science. He leads a research group focused on plant compounds
for wound healing, a project that is part of the Wound Management Innovation Cooperative
Research Centre. Other research interests include authentication of herbal raw materials
and the quality and safety of herbal medicinal products. Hans is the Curator of the
Southern Cross University's Medicinal Plant Herbarium (PHARM) and a co-founder of
the University’s Herbal Authentication Service. He also serves on the Therapeutics Goods
Administration's statutory Advisory Committee on Complementary Medicines and is a
member of the Queensland Ministerial Advisory Panel for Higher Education. He has taught
pharmacognosy, herbal and complementary medicine for two decades, at both undergraduate
and postgraduate level.
