I am an alumnus of Hamilton College (1946) and Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley (1951), retired from Lillick & Charles and Of Counsel to its successor, Nixon Peabody, San Francisco. I am a Past President of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and Member of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers. My practice has been mainly in admiralty and maritime law, reinsurance and arbitration law and my published writings since 1957 are in those fields, including a number of law review articles and the book Law of Reinsurance (1993).
