Grace is a Latin American Economist born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, South America. She
obtained both her MBA degree and B.S. degree in Economics in her native country. She has
completed post-baccalaureate courses in Agricultural Economics -as USAID scholar at Iowa
State University- and, in International Agricultural Marketing -as DSE-ZEL scholar in
Feldafing, Germany. 

Economic consultant to the public and private sector in Latin America for more than 17
years, with concentration in quantitative methods, econometric models and applied
research. Her current research focus integrates studies in leadership, organizational
behavior, business education, and relationship fundraising. 

Ms. Thomson's involvement in higher education for more than 15 years in Latin
America and the United States includes teaching, administration, and consulting. In 1990
she started as a visiting professor in her alma mater -Universidad Catolica de Santiago
de Guayaquil, Ecuador- and shortly after she obtained tenure, at age 26. In 2000 she was
appointed by the University Board as the first Director of MBA programs in the
institution. One year later, Grace was also appointed as the General Coordinator of
Graduate Studies, positions that she successfully managed until 2003, when she relocated
to the U.S. 

As of 2004 Grace teaches full-time for the Business Administration Program at Nevada
State College (NSC)in Henderson, Nevada. She is also an Adjunct instructor for the
Graduate Business Administration Program of University of Phoenix Las Vegas Campus. 

Awarded with the NSC Heritage Faculty Fellowship, Grace is now pursuing her doctoral
degree in Business Administration with the School of Advanced Studies of University of
Phoenix. 

Her volunteer work links her passion for academics and consulting. She is a volunteer
chapter editor for the Global Text Project, volunteer Business Counselor with SCORE
(Counselors to Small Business in America, and volunteer translator for Small Business
School. 

As an entrepreneur, Grace manages her firm Spanish Communication Services
(www.spanishcommunicationservices.com) as a consultant on diversity, and Latino affairs
in Nevada. 

Grace lives in Henderson, Nevada with her husband Ken, and daughter Elenita.
