Dr Golam Sorwar BSc(BUET), MSc(UKM), PhD(Monash)

I am a lecturer with the School of Commerce and Management (Multimedia and Information
Technology discipline) at the Coffs Harbour Campus of Southern Cross University.

I received BSc Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1994 from Bangladesh
University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh, MSc Degree in Electrical,
Electronic and Systems Eng. in 1998 from National University of Malaysia, Malaysia, and
PhD Degree in Information Technology from Monash University, Australia in 2003.

My main area of teaching is in the areas of computer communication and networks,
multimedia resource development and application programming. My major research interests
are in the fields of multimedia signal processing and communication, electronic health
and telemedicine applications, sensor networks and artificial intelligence. I have
published more than 40 peer-reviewed internal /national journal articles, conference
papers and book chapters. I am a member of IEEE, USA; ACS, Australia and IEB, Bangladesh.
