Glenda A. Thornton is the Cleveland State University Michael Schwartz Library Director and has more than 30 years of professional library service. Prior to coming to Cleveland State University, Dr. Thornton served as Interim Dean/Director at Auraria Library, University of Colorado at Denver, where she was previously Associate Director for Library Services. She has also held professional positions in Texas and Arkansas. She serves on the Library Advisory Council for OhioLINK, has been active in American Library Association and Association of College and Research Libraries. She received her doctorate from the University of North Texas and her MLS from the University of Oklahoma. She is the reviews editor for Technical Service Quarterly and has authored and co-authored a number of articles on improving library facilities and operations, technical services, and collection management topics which have been published in Library Trends, American Libraries, Technical Services Quarterly, Serials Review, Reference Librarian, and Library Acquisitions: Practice and Theory. Dr. Thornton has also been named in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who of American Women, International Who's Who of Professional and Business Women and is a former editor of Collection Management.
