About Gerald F. Reid

Gerald Reid, Ph.D. is Professor of Anthropology and Sociology and Department Chair in the College of Arts and Sciences at Sacred Heart University. Dr. Reid’s research interests focus on cultural and political development and revitalization among the Haudenosaunee in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, particularly in Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) communities in Quebec and Ontario. 

Jerry Reid received the Service Learning Award at SHU's Annual Faculty Reception on May 7, 2014 for his early adoption of integration of service-learning into a large number of his classes.

Professor Reid has also been Program Director for the Center for Irish Cultural Studies at Sacred Heart University.
