About Gary Erickson

Erickson teaches ceramics. His organic-abstract sculpture has been exhibited at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Southwest School of Art and Craft in San Antonio, Texas, and Gallery 101 in Melbourne, Australia. He was awarded a 1999 Minnesota State Arts Board Fellowship and a 1999 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Ceramic Artists. A feature article about his sculpture appeared in Ceramics Monthly and previously in Ceramics: Art and Perception. His work is in several private and corporate collections including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution.
EDUCATION: B.A., Hamline University, 1980; M.F.A., New York State College of Ceramics, 1985.
Erickson has been teaching at Macalester since 1995.
