Fred Smith is Associate Professor of theology and biblical Studies at Liberty
Baptist Theological Seminary. He received his PhD in Philosophy Of Religion (Apologetics)
at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. His dissertation is
entitled "An Evangelical Evaluation Of Key Elements In Leslie Newbigin’s
Apologetics." He and his wife Laverne enjoy travel, gardening, and reading. They are
members of Forest Baptist Church in Forest, Virginia, where he serves as an adult Bible
teacher and she is Sunday school director. They make frequent mission trips to Asia.
