About Ferran Sancho

Ferran Sancho is Professor of Economics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain, since 1992. He is also a research fellow at CODE, a research center at the UAB, and an affiliate professor at the Barcelona School of Economics. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley (1992, 2003), the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis (1993), the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (2010, 2011), and Loyola University of Andalucia (2016). His research interests focus on computational economics with applications to fiscal and tax policy and environmental issues. He served as Vice-Dean at the School of Economics and Business (1983-85), Vice-Chancellor for Research and Faculty at the UAB (1998-2002), Chair of the Department of Economics at the UAB (2004-2010), and Rector of the UAB (2012-16). He was appointed by the Ministry of Education for the 2008-2011 period as a member of the Spanish National Accreditation Committee in the Social and Juridical Sciences
