Gold in Egypt. A Historical Introduction

Abstract
Gold was the first metal exploited by man and this took place in ancient Egypt and rendered Egypt a large empire. The ancient Egyptians were able to hammer gold and produce an extremely thin foil to cover wood. Later, there were attempts to transmute base metals into gold.
