Fabian Duarte is Associate Economist at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, CA. Dr. Duarte received his Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University, his B.A. from the University of Chile. His research interests span health economics, retirement economics, industrial organization and education. Recent work, has included studies of price elasticity of expenditure, switching behavior in the private health insurance market in Chile, and consumer behavior in the privatized social security market in Mexico. He is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Pardee RAND Graduate School of Public Policy, where he teaches an elective course in Game Theory. He also has a double affiliation with the Department of Economics, at the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile.
