Dr. Eugênio Sper de Almeida is a São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP)
post-doctoral fellow at the Computer Science Department under the supervision of Dr.
Michael Bauer, professor of the Computer Science Department at the University of Western
Ontario. He obtained a Dr. Degree (2007) in Applied Computing and a M.Sc. degree (1997)
in Remote Sensing at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). His research
interests are grid and HPC computing, and computer networks. Currently, he is
investigating the performance of the Numerical Weather Model BRAMS (Brazilian Regional
Atmospheric Modelling System) using different configurations of the SHARCNET (Shared
Hierarchical Academic Research Computing Network) clusters, and the synchronized
execution of BRAMS for regional and local scale area simulation to reduce meteorological
information delivery.
