About Eugenio D. Matibag

Eugenio Matibag is Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Iowa State University. He participates on the department’s Latin American Studies Program Committee, and he has served on the President’s Advisory Committee on Diversity and the LAS College’s Diversity Committee. He is Founding Director of the Center for American Intercultural Studies, Founding Director of Asian American Studies, President of the ISU Filipino Association and Advisor to the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish National Honorary Society. He graduated with a doctorate in comparative literature with a Latin American literature emphasis from the University of California, Irvine. Before that he finished his bachelor’s degree in comparative literature at the University of Redlands. He regularly teaches courses in Spanish language, Latin American civilization, and Hispanic literary studies.
