Abstract
The role of scalar mesons in nonleptonic kaon decay is analyzed. Two kinds of scalar mesons are considered, S-wave q2q̅ 2 and P-wave qq̅ composites. In particular, the ε(700)q2q̅ 2 composite cannot explain kaon decay.
