Dr. Elizabeth Fredericksen earned her B.S. and M.P.A. degrees from the University of
Idaho, and then a Ph.D. in Political Science from Washington State University. She joined
the faculty of the departments of Public Policy and Administration and Political Science
at Boise State University in 1998, where she is also the Director of Graduate Studies for
the MPA Program. She teaches both undergraduates and graduate students, and in the MPA
program teaches courses on such subjects as public personnel administration, government
administration, ethics, and grant writing. She also consults with public, private and
nonprofit organizations in ethics, workplace civility, and strategic planning. 

Dr. Fredericksen's research interests are in Public Administration and
Personnel/Voluntary Action including workplace incivility, aggression, and bullying;
nonprofit management and organizational capacity; and volunteer program administration.
She also studies issues in Civic Engagement and Public Administration looking at factors
that influence effective citizen involvement ranging from neighborhood design to
residential associations.
