My teaching and research fall into two main areas: municipal climate change planning, and more general land use planning. Municipalities are on the front line of addressing climate impacts as well as reducing greenhouse gases, and my work seeks to support, document, and better understand those efforts. My land use work unites around a theme of collaboration and conservation, with a particular focus on engaging stakeholders into broader efforts to conserve land and improve urban livability. I seek to bring those innovative ideas into the classroom, and through sharing best practices, encourage others in their innovations as well.
