Abstract
A system was developed to acquire images from a digital camera with control coming from a desktop computer. This system has been developed for use with two different projects. One project is designed to capture images of books for use in an optical character recognition program. The second use is for automated image acquisition where images are needed on a set time schedule and the images are then saved directly to the desktop computer for later analysis.
