Dr Elaine Ramsey is a senior lecturer within the Department of Business, Retail and
Financial Services, Ulster Business School, University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. 

Her main areas of expertise are in the areas of SMEs; Tradeable Services; E-Business; and
E-Marketing Management. Her particular area of research interests relate to regional
economic development and public policy support mechanisms associated with enhancing the
competitiveness of small service firms. The research outcomes concern the influence of
government policy on innovation, enterprising activity and the ‘e’ entrepreneurial
orientation of SMEs. An additional area of interest is the utilisation of innovative
mixed methodological approaches to evaluate public policy. She is currently a
co-investigator on five INTERREG IVB projects: MicrE; SMALLEST; TransTourism; NEES and
SECRE
