Nicholas Economides is Professor of Economics at New York University’s Stern School of Business and Executive Director of the NET Institute (Networks, Electronic Commerce and Telecommunications). He is an expert on network economics, electronic commerce, antitrust and public policy. His fields of specialization include telecommunications, computers, and information, the economics of technical compatibility and standardization, and the microstructure and organization of financial markets and payment systems. He has consulted for the FTC, financial institutions, and foreign governments, and has served as an expert in a number of antitrust and regulatory matters. Dr. Economides received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and his B.Sc. (First Class Honors) from the London School of Economics.
