Leader of the Complex Systems Group and affiliate of the Center of Nonlinear Studies
at the Theoretical Division in Los Alamos National Laboratory, Eli Ben-Naim conducts
research in statistical, nonlinear, and soft matter physics. He studies collective and
nonequilibrium dynamics of interacting particle systems with emphasis on granular matter.
His recent interdisciplinary research on stochastic processes modeling of complex systems
includes social, opinion, game, and population dynamics. Eli received his B.Sc. in
Physics and Mathematics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1990, and his Ph.D. in
Physics from Boston University in 1994. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of
Chicago and at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
