“Clerk-Loaning” Program Sparks Ethical Debate
Abstract
In today’s economic climate, the legal profession faces the same financial pressures all businesses do. Neither law firms nor court systems are immune, with hiring freezes and layoffs a regular occurrence. In an effort to keep the wheels of justice turning, Massachusetts is using a “clerk loaning” program that poses challenging ethical questions.Suggested Citation
