Hello! Here is a little information about me.... I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Western Kentucky University in 1996. While attending nursing school, I was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society for Nurses. After being employed as a registered nurse at a rehabilitation hospital for three years, I accepted a position as a school nurse in Warren County. During this time, I attended graduate school at WKU. I completed the Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in 2001 and soon accepted a faculty position at Tennessee Wesleyan College-Fort Sanders Nursing Department in Knoxville, Tennessee and taught there for three years. In the fall of 2002, I entered a doctoral program in the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences at The University of Tennessee. I was awarded an Ed.D. in the summer of 2004 with a concentration in Curriculum, Educational Research, and Evaluation. In August 2004, my husband and I relocated back to Bowling Green and I accepted a full-time teaching position in the School of Nursing at Western Kentucky University. In December of 2007 I earned the distinction of Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). I enjoys water sports, home improvement projects, 4-wheeler riding, and most of all, being a mom and wife! My husband and I worship at Hillvue Heights Church (www.hillvue.com). My life mission statement is based on Galations 2:20. "May I die to my selfish ways so that when others see me, they see Jesus' love and compassion for others, and come to experience the peace, forgiveness, and mercy he provides to everyone who will receive."
