After attempting a couple different business ideas while at DePaul, Reid discovered a business opportunity with VOKAL, which builds custom mobile applications for businesses. One year after graduating, he employs 10 full-time people and will break $1 million in revenue. Reid made several important connections at Coleman Center networking events, and in early 2010 was featured in a CNBC documentary about the dramatic growth of the mobile application industry. Reid is a member of the eMerge Alumni Council.
