In this fragile political environment, and during these tumultuous times, it is essential that more -- not less -- members of underrepresented communities receive education by our best academic institutions, including Harvard. It is essential that our next cadre of leaders would not only come out of a diverse student body, but also reflect such a group.

By entirely eliminating the consideration of race in academic admissions, the Supreme Court will bring an end to anther proud tradition in this country, one that provides rights and protections to those who need it most.
