A native of Mexico, Dirk Zavala's own research interests are in the area of
public choice, game theory and the law, antitrust and regulatory law. He completed a law
degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a master's degree in
law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He did his postgraduate work in law and
economics at Harvard's Real Colegio Complutense and in EU competition law at the
Collège d'Europe. He teaches law and economics at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo
de México and at the law school of the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas. He
also serves as Senior Partner at Ingeniería Jurídica y Económica, S.C.
