Abstract
This article discusses an often overlooked value of international assessments - they provide an insight and description of task development and complexity that teachers can refer to when creating their own classroom tasks and assessment. It focuses on the Adult Literacy and Life Skills Survey and the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies.
