About Craig Rich

Craig Rich is a recent addition to Loyola Marymount University's Department of Communication Studies. Joining the faculty following his graduate work at the University of Utah, he has taught a variety of courses on organizational and interpersonal communication; gender, sexuality, and communication; and research methods.
At a general level, Professor Rich's scholarship examines the intersections of differences, occupations, and job identities. For instance, his dissertation examined how differences, particularly gender and sexuality, organized the meanings and belongings of barbers and hairstylists' work identities.
Dr. Rich also received a competitive fellowship from the University of Utah's Graduate School to support this research. His research has received several top paper awards from the Western States Communication Association and been published in Southern Communication Journal and Classroom Communication and Instructional Process: Advances Through Meta-analysis
