Dr. Craig Peariso is an Assistant Professor with the Art Department. He earned his
Ph.D. in Art History and Criticism and Cultural Studies from State University of New York
at Stony Brook. Prior to coming to Boise State he served as a Lecturer at Columbia
University teaching courses such as "Art Humanities: Masterpieces of Western
Art" and "From Burnt Corks to Camps: Stereotypes and Performance in 19th and
20th Century America". His many professional activities have included lecturing at
the University of Alberta and University of Connecticut, serving as an Academic
Consultant for Routledge Books, and writing a book chapter on "Commercials for the
Revolution: 'Movement Celebrities' and the Theatricality of Opposition”. Dr.
Peariso was also the recipient of the 2007 – 2009 Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Teaching
Fellowship from Columbia University.
