My name is Chris Peterson. I think about and work with Internet technologies and how they affect human communication and behavior. My full time gig is at MIT, where I work on web outreach and strategy for MITAdmissions.org. I leverage social software to make it easier for MIT and prospective students to find and communicate with each other. It’s sort of like eHarmony for nerds, which makes it just like eHarmony I guess, except that it’s more fun, the people are friendlier, and there are slightly fewer RealDolls. I’m also a researcher at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School, as well as an Associate at the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution. In these capacities I spend a lot of time reading and writing and thinking about the Internet and how it impacts the way we all communicate and experience our lives.
