Profile: 

Dr. Clarence Chick Holland has served in both public and private education for more than
three decades. Prior to his present position with Liberty University, he served as
administrator for Shiloh Christian School in Springdale, Arkansas. Dr. Holland held the
positions of high school Biology-Chemistry teacher for 16 years, middle school principal,
high school principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent within the public
school domain for a total of 30 years. He served as Chairman-Director of Teacher
Education at Oklahoma Baptist University as well as a committee member for NCATE in
Washington, DC. 

Dr. Holland holds a BS in Natural Science., MS in Biology, and M.Ed. in Administration
from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. He earned his doctorate from Oklahoma
State University in the fields of Administration and Curriculum Development. His
dissertation involved distance learning in Physics entitled, “A Descriptive Study of
Physics by Satellite.” 

His church involvement over the years includes teaching the Pastor’s Class at First
Baptist Church, Springdale, having a regular attendance in excess of 100 each Sunday.
During the past three years he has taught an in-depth Bible study at East Paris Baptist
Church, Paris, Texas, regularly seating 90 to 100 Bible students. 

Dr. Holland is unashamedly Christian and unapologetically Baptist and holds the local
church as God’s arm of outreach to a lost world.
