After teaching English for two years in a Korean high school, Dr. Christopher Shon came to the States in order to study more in special education. His master’s degree is in Visual Disabilities from the Florida State University. He worked as an orientation and mobility specialist in St. Petersburg, FL, for three years. After finishing his doctoral degree in Special Education from the Florida State University, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Carson-Newman College for seven years. Since 2006, he is teaching special education and research courses for undergraduate and graduate students at Liberty University. He had been trained both for quantitative & qualitative research methods, but finished his doctoral dissertation using a qualitative method. His research interests include physical & social accessibility of individuals with disabilities, family involvement in special education, study skills, teacher professionalism, and the issues related to the visually impaired.
