About Christian Weller

Prior to joining our faculty, Professor Christian Weller was a senior economist at the Center for American Progress, where he remains a senior fellow. He has also worked at the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, D.C, where he is still a research associate.
Professor Weller has published more than 100 articles in academic and popular publications. His academic publications have appeared in the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, the Journal of Development Studies, the Cambridge Journal of Economics, the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of Aging and Social Policy, and the Journal of Economic Issues, among others. His popular writings include publications in the New York Times, USA Today, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Professor Weller is very active in the economic policy realm with an emphasis on retirement income security. He is an institute fellow at the Gerontology Institute at the University of Massachusetts Boston, a research associate at the Political Economy Research Institute of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a member of the Academic Advisory Council of the National Institute on Retirement Security in Washington, DC. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Retirement, the Journal of Social Policy and Aging and Research on Aging. Dr. Weller holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
