Abstract

The religious community at Rajneeshpuram has fascinated academics and the public at large because of its combination of sex, wealth, and scandal. Goldman's Passionate Journeys provides new perspective on this controversial cult, addressing a fundamental question about new age movements: Why do they disproportionately attract women from privileged backgrounds?
