My research interests include the archaeology of Northeast North America,
hunter-gatherers, the origins of agriculture, ceramic ecology, geoarchaeology, and
cultural resource management. I am an Associate Professor of Anthropology, and Department
Chair. I am also the Director of the UMass Amherst Center for Heritage and Society
