My research interests include the archaeology of Northeast North America, hunter-gatherers, the origins of agriculture, ceramic ecology, geoarchaeology, heritage studies, and cultural resource management. I am a Professor of Anthropology, and Director of the UMass Amherst Center for Heritage and Society (www.umass.edu/chs).
