Biography

Cheryl Doss is adjunct professor of mission at SDATS and director of the Institute of World Mission, the missionary training department of the General Conference. The child of missionaries, she served with her husband, a Seminary professor, as a nurse and teacher in the country of Malawi for sixteen years. After returning to the US, she received a PhD in Educational Studies with a minor in Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and began researching and writing in the areas of missionary family transition and intercultural education for missionaries. Since joining the Institute of World Mission in 2000, she has traveled extensively teaching intercultural studies to missionaries and church leaders from around the world.

Oscar Osindo, is an associate director of the Institute of World Mission. He is also a PhD Candidate (submitted) at Oxford Centre for Mission Studies. Oscar started to work for Muslims in the early 1990's in his native country of Kenya. His cross cultural experience was enriched by the time he spent in the United Kingdom, where he pioneered work among Muslims. Thereafter, he served the world Church at the Global Centre for Adventist Muslim Relations, based in Cyprus at the time. Oscar initiated several ministries among Muslims in various parts of the world. He has taught for a number of Adventist institutions around the world, and was Missiology Program Leader at the Adventist University of Africa Seminary. In 2014, Oscar was called to serve at the General Conference Institute of World Mission, where he now trains others to reach out to other cultures.
