Abstract

Corpus linguistics, through the use of computer technology, allows researchers to analyse large collections of language data (corpora) much more quickly and systematica lly than was previously As a result, corpus-based findings have emerged that both enrich and challenge previous notions about language use. Since the early 1990s, researchers have become increasingly interested in applying the findings of corpus studie s to language teaching.
