My career as a librarian has had many twists and turns. I have been at the USF Tampa Library since 1997, first as the Government Documents/Reference Librarian, then as the Reference/Latin American & Caribbean Studies Librarian, and now as Coordinator for Serials (since 2004). Though I started out at USF in public services, my life as a librarian originally began on the technical side. As an undergraduate and as a graduate student, I worked in Cataloging, then continued as the Head of Cataloging at Furman University in Greenville, SC, for 4 years. My last two years at Furman were in Government Documents and Reference, after which I moved to Tampa to be closer to family. (Like most "Floridians," I am not a native; I grew up in Virginia Beach.) I received my BBA in Finance from the College of William and Mary, my MLS from the University of Kentucky, and my M.A. in Spanish from the University of South Florida. Librarianship is such a perfect career for someone with a wide variety of interests!
