A native of Peru, Carlos A. Patrón researches mostly on antitrust and competition
law, economic regulatory law and Law & Economics. He obtained his law degree with
honours from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, and earned two master's
degrees, an LL.M. from Yale University, where he was an editor of the Yale Journal on
Regulation, and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Oxford, where
he attended as a Shell Centenary Scholar. He has been a visiting associate at Sullivan
& Cromwell LLP in New York, and is currently a partner at Payet, Rey, Cauvi Abogados
in Lima. He serves as an Ordinary Professor of Law at the Law School of the Pontificia
Universidad Católica del Perú, where he teaches torts and Law & Economics, lectures
on economic regulation at the Graduate School of the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias
Aplicadas, and has been a Visiting Professor at the Levin College of Law at the
University of Florida, Gainesville.
