Abel specializes in 20th Century German and Austrian film, literature and culture, with an emphasis on exile history and literature as well as German and American feminisms. She is also interested in the use of educational technology in both language and culture classes. EDUCATION: B.A., Cornell University M.A., University of Minnesota Ph.D., University of Minnesota Abel has been teaching at Macalester since 2002.
