Ben Kriechel is researcher at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour
Market (ROA), Maastricht University. He has been project leader for several labour market
research projects both nationally and internationally. Ben Kriechel is involved in the
national skills-forecasts for the Netherlands, and core team member of the pan European
Skill forecasting model developed for Cedefop. He has consulted on skill forecasting both
nationally and internationally. Ben Kriechel has taught courses on Personnel Economics,
Health Economics and Research Methodology. Ben Kriechel graduated ('cum laude')
from Maastricht University, where he also obtained his PhD. His Ph.D. research focused on
large scale displacement of workers combining firm-level and survey data. He has been
visiting Brandeis University, the NORC at the University of Chicago, and the IZA in Bonn.
Ben Kriechel has worked on topics in personnel economics, worker displacement, labour
mobility and skills forecasting.
