Becky Briesacher, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of
Geriatric Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School. She is a health services
researcher with nationally-recognized expertise in prescription drug policy and
medication use in aging populations, both in the community setting and in long-term care
facilities. Dr. Briesacher is particularly interested in how health care policy and
insurance can impact medication affordability, nonadherence, catastrophic medical
expenditures and ultimately patient health. The quality of medication use in nursing
homes is also a topic of great interest.
