B.Econ (LaTrobe University) M.Comm (University of Melbourne) Ph.D (University of Queensland) SA Fin (Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia) Prior to commencing his academic career Barry Williams worked in the Economics Department of the State Bank of Victoria. Currently teaching subjects relating to international finance, financial markets and institutions, he has previously taught at Monash University and the University of Queensland. He is particularly interested in the banking industry and the impact of deregulation and globalisation of the banking industry upon bank performance. A regular contributor to many publications including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Financial Markets, Institutions and Instruments, Journal of Economic Surveys, Applied Economics and Accountability and Performance, Barry has also been commissioned by UNESCO to write an entry on Multinational Finance for the Encyclopaedia of Life Support Systems. Nominated on several occasions for his teaching skills at Bond and the University of Queensland, Barry has won teaching awards from the School of Business and the Business Students Association at Bond.
